Does your small business need a backup power system?
May 7, 2024Why your portable generator might fail (and how you can prevent it!)
August 5, 2024The summer brings fun, great weather and – most importantly – storm season.
Storm season can leave you without power, sometimes for days on end. So, are you prepared with a plan in case you lose power this summer? Here are some steps to take to make sure you are ready – before an emergency occurs.
Make a plan for storm season
Before the storm hits, it is a good idea to make sure you have a plan in place to deal with whatever is coming. Talk to your family about what to do if you lose power and make sure you keep bottled water, shelf stable food and your electronics charged up and your gas tanks full.
Watch the weather
When you know the weather could be unstable, keep a close eye on the forecast. This will ensure you aren’t caught unaware and you can make sure everything is all set and ready to go ahead of a potential disaster.
Check your backup power supply
If you have a backup power supply or generator, make sure it is properly maintained and ready to go. Check the fluid levels, and make sure it has plenty of fuel. If you don’t have a generator, now is the time to invest in one so you have little to no downtime in the aftermath of a storm.
